Sometimes serendipity happens and you’re gifted a piece of kit that’s old, but usable. Then you decide that taking it out for a walk would be a good idea.
Something borrowed: an 11 year old Sony a6000 with a leather grip so old there are more cracks than I can count. A couple of lenses I have no idea how to use, and an afternoon with the family out on the streets of Bukit Bintang.

What is that magical triangle photographers talk about? With my iPhone we never have to care about that. Everything is magically done, pleasing, ready for the ‘gram. But I’ve promised myself to not feed the ever-hungry, ever scraping machine. No sir.

It was muggier than I was ready for, and I had no idea how to manage the light, and the lens, and everything else. I was also scared because everyone takes better photos now. Then I remembered that it doesn’t matter because these are mine.

It was fun. Maybe I’ll even do it again, if I ever figure out that magic box.
