Many months after release I am finally sitting down to watch Sisu. I get the quiet hype now, it’s really very, very good.

My 15 year old asked me if we had a CD burner. I asked him why and he said he wanted to burn some songs onto a disc so he could listen to them on his cd player we got him for his birthday. When I pointed out the obvious, that he could simply buy the songs individually he said “but I want to have a physical copy”.

It’s quite meta, to me. While I’m fine having everything I consume on the cloud, this kid wants something he can hold. There’s something in there which speaks to a generational thing, but I can’t put my finger on it…yet.

Further edit, later in the day. I am finally, many years later, also watching the Nun.

Why? Because I felt the need to complete the endeavor of surviving the Conjuring Universe. And also because I was bored. The Nun is probably one of the most unintentionally funny horror movies I’ve watched, and I can’t wait to catch the sequel which is now conveniently streaming.
